Bunka-no-hi is a holiday, On the 3rd of November.
It is about loving freedom, peace  and appreciating Japanese culture. It is the day of the proclamation of the Japanese Constitution.

This holiday came from the birthday of the Meiji Emperor who was worried about losing Japan's own culture and morality by the wave of western and American culture during the Meiji period.

There are many events and festivals on this day.
Japanese people visit and enjoy museums and theatrical performances.

Jusan-ya(十三夜)

Japanese people appreciate two kinds of full moons in October, Jusan-ya (十三夜) and Jugo-ya(十五夜).
During the Jusan-ya, beans and chestnuts are offered to the moon,
and during the Jugo-ya, potatoes, dumplings, vegetables and flowers are offered to both moons.
It is said that they bring good luck to Japanese people, when they see both moons.

I attended a great party for Jusan-ya.
A cook, Akiko Ishikawa(石川昭子) invited me to a delicious dinner.
We enjoyed Japanese sake and fine dishes.
