Jusan-ya(十三夜)
Japanese people appreciate two kinds of full moons in October, Jusan-ya (十三夜) and Jugo-ya(十五夜).
During the Jusan-ya, beans and chestnuts are offered to the moon,
and during the Jugo-ya, potatoes, dumplings, vegetables and flowers are offered to both moons.
It is said that they bring good luck to Japanese people, when they see both moons.
I attended a great party for Jusan-ya.
A cook, Akiko Ishikawa(石川昭子) invited me to a delicious dinner.
We enjoyed Japanese sake and fine dishes.
